Does Jack REALLY Need Sex to Sell a Sandwhich??

There is far too much sex used in today's advertising and media to sell.

You now have the privilege to read about one of my favorite and hotly discussed topics from my own personal soapbox...

Jack, of Jack in the Box fame, has recently taken to using sex to sell his sandwiches.  Jack is employing subtle sexual inuendos in his restaurant commercials.

The most recent commercial where Jack is selling 2 breakfast Jacks for $3, he is visiting his mother at her home. At the end of the commercial, Jack's father opens the door and says

"It's been 4 hours, call the Doctor."

I can only surmise from the expression on Jack's face that dear old dad is talking about his erection...probably enhanced with Viagra or some other male medication.

All I can say is....DISGUSTING!

Well, you know that is not all I can say about the subject!

When I was a little girl, Jane Russell and The 18 Hour Bra rocked American society with her commercials selling the bra.  The bra was displayed on a clear bust style manequin.

I remember my mother telling me how shocking it was that a bra was openly shown on T.V.!

Nowadays, Victoria Secret commercials would have made my mother faint!

I want to know...

Why in the heck are we so darn apathetic about the media and entertainment industry inject sex into every commercial, product, movie, and T.V. commercial we see?

Why are we so complacent about the fact that we have to tell our children to cover their eyes "quickly" when these commercials come on?

Why do we accept the subtle sexual inuendos all around us that are influencing our children at a younger and younger age to behave in a sexualized manner?

I say enough!    I will find out who we protest to in order to curb these practices.
I do know one thing for sure, a strongly worded letter to Jack's Corporate Offices is in order!
